At Peats Ridge we only use composting toilets. They are waterless and odour free and six months after the Festival the bi-product will be a fantastic soil conditioner for our festival site. 

 

In the natural world there is no such thing as 'waste'. All organisms degrade and have their intrinsic nutrients taken up by other life forms. Nature provides the ultimate example of recycling. Composting toilets replicate the rain forest floor in recycling organic material and nutrients. 

By combining human toilet deposits with a carbon based bulking material and oxygen, composting toilets create an environment where a previous environmental and health issue becomes magnificent soil conditioner.

Any sized set up can be installed, from a single loo to multiple units. The cost to use a composting toilet system is no more than using flushing toilets once you have factored in the costs of pump out. The cost to the environment is significantly less.

Natural Event hires cubicles and urinals and tailor designs a system to suit particular conditions and various site requirements. They can also provide plans and designs for permanently installed systems for events that will continue at the same site.

• Use recycled toilet paper
• Get council approval. Only areas that are not hooked up to the sewer system are allowed to have composting toilets. Council approval is needed for where you will 'compost' after the event.
