ORGANIC FOOD
In line with our sustainable living ethic, Peats Ridge encourages sustainable agricultural practices and we promote and encourage consumption of organic food.
In order to do this we have put several things in place:
- Have a dedicated Organic Food Co-ordinator who's role is to assist food stalls in changing over to organic ingredients.
- We have set a target of a minimum of 50% of food available from food stalls to be organic.
- We require all coffee stalls to use organic and fair trade coffee.
- We have sourced an organic milk, fruit and vegetables, and meat purveyors to service our food stalls onsite.
- We set up a festival-run organic fruit and vegetables stall for patrons to purchase from.
- Source organic dry goods and grocery lines and supply a wholesale list to food stalls, including suppliers.
- Secure an exclusive supply by an organic winery.
Our organics co-ordinator sets up supply lists and provides these to food stalls before the event. For fruit and vegetables, we have a wholesaler, who delivers bulk on site. Our organics co-ordinator combines all the food stall orders, and sends them through to the wholesaler. The orders are split onsite, and delivered to the stalls.

ORGANIC INCENTIVE PLAN
We have an incentive plan in place to encourage our food vendors to become 100% organic. This includes a $500 rebate on their stall fees when presenting $2000 worth of certified organic receipts, also 100% guaranteed organic food vendors have the added bonus of being featured on both our website and Festival program.
BUYING LOCALLY
We have identified local organic growers, and have ensured their produce is used at our festival in two ways. Firstly is contacting them and finding out who wholesales their produce. Secondly is by establishing personal contact with these growers, we are able to find out what they will be growing when our festival is on, and line up some direct purchases between stallholders and the farms.
