GAIL PRIEST

Gail Priest is a Sydney-based sound artist interested in releasing the hidden melodies and broken beats found in raw sonic material. Restlessly pacing between music and sound art, her atmospheric explorations incorporate dirty machinic rhythms and bass-heavy pulsations contrasted with glassy cascades and occasional sweet slippery vocals.

After misguided excursions in the 90s of the neo-folk singer/songwriter variety, she embraced laptoppery in 2001 and since then has performed at experimental music events and festivals such as Liquid Architecture, the NOW now, Electrofringe, impermanent.audio, disorientation and 1/4 inch.
