BEARHUG

We are proud to announce that Bearhug are the winners of the Triple J Unearthed competition to play at Peats Ridge.

Having met in high school, it wasn’t until after leaving that Bearhug started writing music together in late 2007.  Gathering influences from such bands as Pavement, My Morning Jacket and Broken Social Scene Bearhug create lush and intricate layers of melancholy sweetness. After recording their demo EP “Cartoon Island� in late 2008 in Byron Bay the band released it independently in March this year and had it featured on FBi’s album show. Bearhug have also appeared on Spunk Singles Record earlier this year with their track “Snow Leopard� and had “Origami Sun� remixed by Seekae for their Remix EP. They have recently signed to Spunk Records and will be releasing their official debut EP early 2010.
