ABBIE CARDWELL

Internationally touring, ex-Adelaide songbird Abbie Cardwell is one helluva self-taught banjo pickin', guitar slingin', harmonica totin' chick with "the voice of a homesick angel."

This triple j Unearthed winner draws inspiration from life and the roots of all music. Soaking up her favourite moments of rock, folk, country, soul and blues, Abbie creates what she has nicknamed as "Rootsy Toons".

Having grown up on a healthy diet of her Country Hall Of Fame inductee fathers JJ Cale, Rickie Lee Jones, Tom Waits and Tony Joe White records, Abbie manages to condense those influences into her own style with an emphasis on the up-close-and-intimate side of 'laid-back.'
